Whether you wear it or are just aware of it, Superdry is the hottest high street brand for men at the minute. Not everyone's taste, but the brand has become immensely popular with the public, sprouting a sister store, Cult. Boasting itself as 'the largest independent stockist of superdry online', Cult sells masses of Superdry gear, as well as a spattering of California Surf Co, a similar style of clothing.
The look that Cult offer for men is heavy duty, the modern day lumberjack or a stylish American trucker if you will. The check shirts, the bulky denim and boots with names like 'lumphammer' all scream rugged and manly. With so much to choose from, let me help you out and pin point a few firm favourites that may work for you this Autumn.
At Cult, you won't find skinny jeans or incredibly low v-neck t-shirts, instead, you get 'vintage antifit denim' with the colour marked as 'double dry rust'. These jeans are stylish and are multi-purpose, the dark colour meaning they can look smart, as well as being worn with everyday outfits as jeans are designed for. These straight cut jeans mean that a pair of dainty plimsolls may look slightly out of place and so I recommend a pair of 'very in' sturdy boots to keep up the style. A dark brown 'new trawler boot' will go well with dark blue jeans and also, work well in protecting your feet from stray heels in a club.
Bottom half sorted, we move on to t-shirts. Cult offer t-shirts aplenty and I personally favour the vintage, worn look. Luckily Superdry specialise in these and a cracked effect print on the front will be in keeping with the rugged look Cult offers. Whilst being manly, a t-shirt on it's own isn't nearly Chuck Norris enough. Layers are a definite part of Cult's look and so a lumberjack style shirt over the top of your t-shirt will work well and the addition of a 'scrambler wax jacket' finishes off the outfit and readies you for the Autumn chill.
Cult may not be for the indie kids, but it certainly will be great for a lot of students. It's current and caters for a certain look, stocking varying colours on basically everything to ensure that you'll rarely see someone wearing the same outfit. If you're into heavy duty, long lasting, stylish clothes – you've found what you're looking for.
