Visas are stamps or stickers that go inside your passport and allow you entry into foreign countries. Most places in Europe don’t require you to get one. However, places such as India and the USA insist you get one before you travel. Failure to do so will result with you being straight back on the next plane to the UK! So, it’s vital you check with the Foreign Office before you travel to see if you need a visa to get into your destination country and how much it'll cost you.

No-one really cares about this one and it’s hardly ever checked. Many travellers have one-way tickets and leave simply by land border crossings. With all visa applications and entry rules, it’s vital you do your research. It gives you peace-of-mind and takes away the risk of being refused entry after a long plane journey.
